|
|
When I return I would like to start a project taping and making sense out of NYRM practice-matches and attended events. Airsoft in general does not have exciting or interesting videos (at least to a non-airsoft player). The problems with existing airsoft films I've seen are this:
Players acting unprofessional: saying rude / stupid things during the action, standing around watching while dead, etc.
Confusion: Inability to understand the playfield, which teams you're looking at, who is taking fire, who is giving fire, why.
Excitement: Airsoft guns are quiet, and their fire is invisible in compressed video, so it's hard to get worked up about it. In addition the confusion makes it impossible to identify with players and their challenges.
At some point I want to follow around a small NYRM squad with one or two cameramen and try to film it avoiding those pitfalls. I want to experiment with editing / on-screen indicators to make the action more clear (for example at points having a transparent map overlay the action, giving the position of the members of the squad and the position of sightings, etc - esp as the squad leader calls out orders etc).
Anyway, anyone interested in this project too / want to film or edit? |

I've been working on a series covering Airsoft from a informative prospective. One DVD on Airsoft Sniping, Another on patrol tactics, Then have Maj. Hogben do one on airsmithing.
I agree I have seen shody airsoft DVD's that simply suck. We as a team can be great instructors to show to greatness of airsoft. Share your thoughts... _________________ ONE SHOT ONE KILL......Long range death. |

Airsmithing is the service and repair of airsoft guns. _________________ ONE SHOT ONE KILL......Long range death. |

| Chilidrew since you're underage for regular NYRM participation you'd make an ideal embedded cameraman - do you have a video-camera / do you have filmmaker ambitions? |

i just got a FLIP cam corder. it is very light and easy to mount to a gun. i used a small tripod with folding/bendable legts to wrap around my gun. the pic qullity is pretty darn good. the FLIP takes up to 2 hrs of filming and can be easally downloaded to a pc. _________________ the only easy day was yesterday |
